The factory VL Exhaust Housing in standard trim has an area ratio of 0.63. Due to a lack of supply in these housings as replacements in the 1990’s, AVOTurboworld decided to manufacture a replacement. In designing this, AVOTurboworld thought that increasing the area ratio of the housing to a 0.73 would assist in decreasing the back pressure in the turbo. This would lead to an increase in power and less drop off in boost in higher rpms.
We decided to finish off the housing with our Cerakote Ceramic Coating by AVOTurboworld. This will help the turbo to spool faster due to keeping heat in the exhaust housing.
